Quick Poll

So, Bryce and I are starting to whittle down baby names, and I was wondering what you all thought. We like Seth, Caleb, and Jake, but saw a new one last night and are starting to like it. What do you guys think of the name Ashton - calling him "Ash" for short? Is it too weird?

And I promise, we didn't use Ashton Kutcher as inspiration.

It's a Boy!

Bryce and I had our 2nd ultrasound today. Everything is going very well with Lil' Monkey, which is such great news! He was very active during the u/s, and kept waving his hands, kicking his legs, and yawning.
At first, we weren't sure we could get him to cooperate and...ahem...show us the goods, but after a quick trip to the restroom, and some gentle nagging on my part, he lost his shyness. (I love how the u/s tech even colored the photo blue.)
We're very excited, although I'm a little daunted at the thought of all the trouble he will get into. I may need to get some good advice from those of you with those active boys!

Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend was fantastic! On Saturday, Britt, Kelly and I went downtown for the Race for the Cure. (Although very little racing was involved on our part.)
So many people!!! This was the view up to the starting line (the arch of pink balloons), and there were about the same number of people behind us.
We enjoyed brunch at Baxter's after the race, and then Kelly and Britt treated me to a facial for my birthday. We ended the day with delicious Chinese take-out, and a truly craptacular movie - "Bring it On - In It To Win It." (Or should I say it was "cheer-tacular?") Thank you girls! It was such a wonderful day, and you are such sweet and thoughtful friends!

On Sunday, my mom and Grandma Allen came to dinner. We had a fantastic time. I am so lucky to have such wonderful women in my life. My mom is such a great example to me of service and love - especially for her family. I am truly grateful for all she does for Bryce and I - we love you!
Bryce was also very adorable and surprised me with a Mother's Day gift. He is such a wonderful and thoughtful guy, and I truly appreciate all he does.

Good Luck!

Our friends Mike & Heidi are moving to Spokane so Mike can wrap up his doctor schoolin'. On Friday, we were able to spend some time with them before they moved away. Shannon and Lance came too, and we had a great time. I became friends with Shan and Heidi in junior high, and have really valued their friendship over the years. They are such wonderful examples to me, and I'm so glad that they have found such happiness. Anyway, farewell to Mike & Heidi - good luck, and we'll see you soon!
