Water, Water Everywhere

We took Jack to the swimming pool for the first time, and he loved it.  He splashed and played and didn't care one bit about water in his face.  This one, on the other hand....
Oh well - at least one of my kids inherited my crazy obsession with swimming...

Evidence

The problem with scooting is....

A Tale of Two Girls

Once upon a time, there were two girls.  They shared a love of many things, including New York, gummy bears, and Lake Powell; but it seemed their favorite thing was delicious desserts.  One night, the two embarked on a quest to discover the most flavorful cupcakes in the land.  They were presented with a tray of six (count 'em, six!) choices.
The deliberations were long and thoughtful...
But in the end, the two girls successfully made their choices.
And what a shocking choice it was!  Despite a decidedly "meh" attitude towards coconut, the "Toasted Coconut" cupcake was the winner.

And despite a bit of the "Cupcake Sweats," everyone lived happily ever after.

The End.

Morales? Yep.

To attempt to show Cole how cool soccer can be, we attended our first Real SL game with him.  Of course, Bill, Carrie, and Isak came along, which made the night even more fun!  Cole actually enjoyed the game and lasted longer than I thought he would.  He even got into some angry yelling at the other team:

Morales? Hmm...Maybe Not

So, Cole started his first season of soccer a couple of weeks ago.  The team decided to name themselves "The Sharks."  Bryce volunteered to coach (Mwah hah hah!), and it is quite hilarious to see him try to wrangle 9 three-year-olds.  Luckily, Isak is on the same team, which makes it a lot of fun.  Cole mostly runs around the field at random and rolls around in the turf.  Money well spent.
Indeed, he sat talking to one of the other "soccer moms" for at least 15 minutes about Disneyland.  They were sharing tips about which rides to go on.
On the other hand, Jack seems to be more than ready to play.

Scoots at One

By now, you all must know that I use one person for all of my photography needs - the fabulous Jenn Culley.  We went out on a beautiful Saturday and had her take Jack's one year old pictures.  As usual, she captured him perfectly.  I'm also in love with the lighting in these pics.  Thanks again, Jenn!

More Cake Fun

I've been super lucky to do some birthday cakes in the last few weeks.  The first was for Shannon's little girl, who was having a Strawberry Shortcake-themed party.  This cake was SO much fun to make!

I was also able to do a couple of smash cakes for twins (TWINS!) turning one.

I always thought that wedding cakes were fun, but these cute little cakes are addicting!

Cole-isms

"I'm a super hero.  Do you know what a super hero does?  They put the safety of others first."

"Hey, what's this in my penis?  They're beans!"  (Followed by a discussion of what the rest of all that business is.  Bryce got to take care of that conversation.)

"Can we find a picture of a volcano erecting on the computer?"

For show and tell at school, Cole brought a golf club, which he refers to as his "zombie brain shooter."  When his teacher asked where he got it from, he said, "From the Chinese."  No clue where that came from.

I took Cole to the bathroom at a restaurant, and there was a girly pop-song playing on the radio.  He said, "I like this song.  This is a good song for me to go potty to."

Best Friends

Both of the boys are currently "transitioning" at school - which means they are moving to different classes.  Jack is moving from Infants to Wobblers, and Cole is moving from Preschool A to Preschool B.  Transitions are always a little scary (for us all), but the teachers do a great job of making the kids feel comfortable.  It's time like this that I'm so grateful Cole has good friends in class, and I'm especially grateful for his best friend, Isak.

We got to spend a little time at the aquarium with Isak, Bill, Carrie, and Henry last weekend.  We always have a great time with them, and love to see how excited the boys get to hang out together.

Even Jack got in on the fun, although he wasn't quite sure what to make of everything.  This was his face pretty much the entire time:

The aquarium was fantastic, and we're very excited to have the new one built out by us.  Can't wait!
