Good Times with the Folks Down Under

Bryce's brother Ryan, along with his wife Eliza and two boys Peter and Matthew, came to Salt Lake from New Zealand this month.  We were happy to see them again, and to meet Matthew, who is about the same adjusted age as Jack.  Between hiking, date nights, and family BBQs, we had a great visit.  On their last weekend here, we hiked to Timpanogas Cave and took the tour.  All of the cousins did fabulously, and I learned how out of shape I truly am.

Love, love, love this shot.
Cole was so excited to hike, and asked the ranger if he was "tall enough for this ride."  He enjoyed being with his cousins, as usual.

The classic baby asleep pose.
Double the sleeping babies!  (Matthew is in there somewhere.)
Afterwards, we drove up to Tibble Fork Reservoir and enjoyed lunch.  This last shot clearly demonstrates the difference in Cole and Jack.  Cole sits in a chair, not one speck of mud or dirt on him, with his bare feet resting on his shoes so they don't touch that gross, gross ground.  Meanwhile, Jack scoots around in the dust, with dirt all over his face and clothes.  Love how different they are.
It was very nice to visit with our New Zealand family, and spend some time in our beautiful mountains!

Epic Post

We had such an awesome 4th of July week, and I've got some great pics.  Maybe too many.  I've been putting off this post for a while, trying to figure out a way to maybe break it up, but I'm just going to go for a really long one.  Here goes!

On the day of the 4th, we went to the annual neighborhood bike parade and BBQ with my mom and dad, along with our neighbors and their boys.  This family in our neighborhood puts this on, basically out of the goodness of their hearts, and it is amazing.

Later that day, it was out to Uncle Ds for a BBQ and fireworks.  Nana gave Cole a pair of blue swim goggles so that he would be more willing to swim, and he pretty much wore them the rest of the day.

On Friday, we went hiking with the Thomsens up to the Uintahs.  Nana was kind enough to keep an eye on Jack while we were gone.  We started at Provo Falls, and ended up at one of the lakes.

We had such a beautiful hike, but as we ate lunch, the ominous sound of thunder hit.  We started down the trail, but were too late.  It not only poured on us, it hailed on us.  Cole dubbed the hailstones "snappers."

Saturday, thanks to Jenn & Chris, I was able to go to the Bee's game in style - box seats!  It was a beautiful night, a great game, and some awesome fireworks.  Thank you both!

Finally, we had Isak and Henry spend some time with us on Sunday.  They had a great time, but it reinforced our decision that two kids is plenty.  :)

Miscellaneous - Summer Edition

Summer is hot.  Sometimes it annoys me with it's hotness.  But most of the time, it's just plain fun.  We've been doing our favorite things:

Riding bikes

 Swimming

Playing at the park

With fun like this, we'll take the heat!
