Gus?

Cole wandered around the house for about 15 minutes this morning saying "Gus? Gus?" After much frustration, we realized he meant his sunglasses. We located them, put them on, and he refused to take them off...for about an hour.

Hey, he knows what he likes, right?

Day 35

Still going strong.

Dearly Departed

It's official:

10 days without a binkie.

Did we have to pretend we didn't know what he was talking about when he asked for it? Definitely. Was it a little funny watching him try to find it under his bed? Maybe a little.

And maybe I was a little sad to throw away something that reminded me of when he was so little.

But, just like when he moved to a toddler bed, it's definitely a good thing.

Farewell, binkie - until we meet again!

Pa & Nana

Cole absolutely loves it when Pa and Nana come over. In fact, sometimes, the first thing Cole will say when he wakes up is "Pa?" So, he was very excited when they came Sunday to pick up the 'Vette:

The Case of the Everlasting Balloon

Remember Bryce's birthday? The one that was about a month ago? I bought balloons for it, and we brought a couple home for Cole to play with. Within two days, the balloons had shrunk and lay listlessly on the floor.

All except one.

We call it mega-ultra-super balloon. It will not die. We keep it out of sheer curiosity, every day expecting to find it sadly lying on the floor. Today is Day 27, and still no signs of weakness.

Touche mega-ultra-super balloon; touche.

Cole's New Girlfriend

Apparently, Cole has a new girlfriend at school. This morning, I dropped him off at daycare, and he started happily playing with the soccer balls. I was just about to leave when one of his classmates, Brynlee, came in. He ran right over to her shouting "B! B! B!" He stopped right in front of her and gently handed her the soccer ball. She smiled shyly at him and said,

"Coke."

Her mom said she had been wandering around the house all night last night saying, "Coke. Coke. Coke." They finally figured out she meant Cole.

It still makes me smile.
