Who's So Big?

Cole went to the doctor on Friday for his 4 month shots and check-up. While there, she confirmed what we already knew: we've got a long, skinny boy on our hands. Cole is 16 pounds (75th percentile) and 27.5 inches tall (completely off the charts). That's right; in a little over 4 months, Cole has grown 6.5 inches. Even though his weight is okay for his age, he is underweight when compared to his height.

No wonder his clothes don't fit!

Why is Our New Year's So Crappy?

Ahhh...the Chinese and their New Year. It's so much better than ours! Britt, Kelly, and I went to the Mandarin in Bountiful to ring in Chinese New Year. Besides having delightful food, we were able to watch a dragon dance. All I can say is that I would definitely NOT want to be the caboose on that train.

Super cool dragon costume

We were sitting right next to the drummers - which was fantastic for about 10 minutes.

We put a little cash in the envelope for the dragon so we would have good luck this year.

Kelly letting us know that good fortune is only worth about a quarter.

Apparently, I need to wish to not look so haggard.

Britt just about got her hand bitten off by the dragon devouring our wish.

Overall, a good time was had by all. And best of all? No making of resolutions which I have no intention of keeping!

The Many Quirks of Cole...continued

New discoveries Cole has made:

Stuff goes in my mouth - no matter how big or how many times it makes me gag.
I love to read.

I enjoy holding my leg up while eating...the entire time.

I love growing. At four months, my six month clothes are just too small.
I ask you, "Why use your hands to do things your feet can do instead?"

I love to play the piano. See how serious I am?

How can you resist me?

For my Valentine

Dear Danielle,

I know I'm not always the best at letting you know how I feel, but it'd be sad if I couldn't let you know on Valentine's Day. Life with you is an adventure that I look forward to everyday. The years just seem to get better and better. I'm amazed at how lucky I am to have such a wonderful partner in life. You're an amazing wife and mother, and don't you forget it! I love you.

Love,
Bryce

So Talented

I am so lucky to have such great family so close, especially those amazing Barber women. From cousins who write and sew to those who design and create, I am always in awe of how talented these girls (and guys!) are. My cousin Jenny is an amazing photographer, and was nice enough to take pictures of our family in December. Here are just a few - thank you, Jenn - these are priceless!
