Facebook

Author's Warning - for anyone with a deep and abiding love for all things Facebook, read on at your own risk...

I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook. I love to lurk. Love, love, love it. But, I'm finding that now I just get mad when I sign on. Allow me to vent.

No, I don't really care that you're:

Bored
Sick
Tired
Working out
So in love with your spouse/significant other
Going to the grocery store
Cleaning your house
Amazed by the weather where you are at
Fishing for compliments (i.e. "Nobody likes me")

Guess what? All of us have been those things at some point or another. Is it really status worthy? And why do 25 people post in response? These are the questions I ask whenever I log on.

So, I have decided to see how much I really do love Facebook. For one week, I resolve not to check it. Not even once. If that goes well, maybe I'll up the ante and go for longer.

That's the plan. Starting tomorrow. I promise...

Good for You! I completely agree with you on all the above points. I made a goal to go 2 weeks off once and after about a week, I honestly didn't care anymore. Eventually, I was bored or curious and went back on and of course got sucked back into checking, but I may just start up that resolve again! Good luck!

You are funny! Hey did you get my email about dinner the week of the 26th? Let me know if either of those days work for you so I can decided what to tell the other girls! Thanks!

I also am bothered by the fishing for compliments, whoa is me, my life is horrible...anything to that extent. Also status like "I just can't decide..." or "I hope it turns out alright..." with no further information. Fishing for comments. Lame.
I do like staying informed and up to date with people that I otherwise would probably have lost contact with completely. So, I stay tuned for that purpose:)
