So...Blogging. It's Getting Awkward

So, are we all done with the blogging?  It seems to be we are.  Judging from the sporadic posts I'm seeing from those who were once dedicated bloggers (including me), it feels more and more like those who still blog are either super stars a la Dooce and Brittany Herself, or are doing so out of a belief that at least *this* is some kind of documentation of lives led.  I would fall firmly into camp 2.

See, here's the thing.  One side of me is just done.  It's one more thing to do.  And the formatting for blogger certainly doesn't make it an easy process.  But the other side of me, that side that loves reading through past entries, the side that loves having the pictures alongside the explanation, knows that I will always appreciate having these posts.

Besides, coming to accept that no one really reads this thing anymore is a little bit liberating.  I've always stayed away from topics that I worry people will misinterpret, but if it really is just a documentation of our little family's life, then why not?

The way I see it, I have two options.  I can allow the work I've done for 5 years to languish and fade, or I can open myself up in a deeply personal way that just might be more meaningful.

When I think of it that way, it's a pretty easy choice.

I still read your posts :) I have been feeling the same way. I realized that for every post I publish there is a post I don't publish (stays as a draft). I don't publish it because I think it may offend someone or is too personal or deep, but for the sake of "documentation" I feel like I need to write it. And I too love looking at old posts. I came across one the other day title "operation colon blow". Seriously, I have had some good times! :)

Please, please keep posting. I still read them and love everything you write about. What a great legacy you'll be able to pass on to your family.

Keep going! I recommitted myself to blogging this year and I'm so glad I did. I too love reading past posts and know it is something I absolutely will not regret in the long run. I love reading your blog and keeping up with your family! :)
