It's hard to believe that Jack was born one week ago - what a crazy week it's been! He's doing very well, and keeps surprising us with how fast he's progressing. He is completely off of oxygen and is breathing room air on his own. His feedings are slowly being increased, and he's keeping everything down. We're so happy that he is doing well and look forward to seeing him get a little bigger.
Cole is excited to be a big brother and keeps asking when it will be his turn to hold the baby. He seems so big to me now, and is becoming quite the chatterbox. He's doing pretty well through all these crazy changes, but if anyone has any tips about how to welcome a new baby in the house with a toddler, please let me know!

Way to go, Jack!!!
Love that picture of him and your Dad. Perfect.
So Cute! My only advice for toddlers would be to try to include him in taking care of the baby. If he feels like it is his baby too and he can help feed or get diapers, etc. then it helps a little with those feelings of him losing that attention. Either way though, it is an adjustment, but I am sure he will figure it out. Especially when brother can play with him.
In this case, it might be a little more difficult to help Cole get use to Jack since he hasn't been able to hold him (or see him?) yet. But I would just make sure to talk about Jack alot and tell him how he is doing, and show him pictures. Get him a bear or something that can be his own "baby" that he can help take care of too. Give him something to be in charge of, like helping get the diaper, or maybe Cole can help with bottle feedings. Is Jack's room ready for when he comes home? Cole could help you put it together. Also, you could take Cole to pick out a gift for Jack like a stuffed animal or even a book. I remember when Tyler was born that Daniel and I would read books when I was feeding him, and that helped Daniel not feel left out. Just a few suggestions. Good luck.
So happy Jack is breathing on his own and doing well. How are you healing, miss?
What a cutie! I'm so glad he's making such great progress. The whole suck swallow breathe thing can take some time--and serious patience. I'm so glad you're getting to hold him!! :)
What a sweetie! I'm so glad he's doing so well!
Precious pictures! I love the last one where he has his eyes open looking. So sweet! Glad he is doing so well. Happy Mother's Day this weekend!
